Glasgow & Ayrshire Region

Why You Should Go:

Glasgow is the big city with lots to offer the first time visitor along the River Clyde.  It’s modern airport is the jumping off point for thousands of golfers who make a pilgrimage annually to courses near and far.   Visit the city sites for 1 or 2 days, then move along to other areas for Golf such as the scenic coastal region of Ayrshire, home to venerable links courses at Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry, each with grand accommodation on or nearby.  Hidden gems such as Western Gailes, Barassie and the new Dundonald courses, add a lot of momentum to any golf visit to the area.   Add the Hidden links gem at Machrihanish and its new sister course Machrihanish Dunes across the Firth of Clyde in Kintyre and you’ll have a tough time leaving the area at all.
